Google has released an update to its mapping app for Android, bringing it to version 9.11. The update introduces a new “full-screen view” feature which allows you to hide all unnecessary interface elements like the search bar or quick-launch for directions with a single tap. A single tap again to bring those elements back in an instant. Unfortunately, the new map view feature will not be supported during turn-by-turn navigation, as noted by Android Police.
In addition to that, the update also gives you the ability to share saved maps with other users through the standard Android social features. You can also edit the captions for any Google Photos that are location tagged and available in “your places” section of the Maps app.
The Maps update is slowly rolling out now and if you don’t want to wait to get the new features of Google Maps 9.1, APK Mirror has the app update available for download.
